Where to Meet Santa in Cyprus 2026: Santa's Houses, Mall Visits and Christmas Villages

Meeting Santa is the highlight of December for most small children, and in Cyprus he turns up in marinas, mall car parks, university campuses and mountain villages rather than in one big grotto. This guide lists every Santa visit confirmed for 2026, district by district, and says plainly where a programme is still to come.

What is confirmed for 2026: when we checked on 5 November 2026, Limassol Marina, the Mall of Cyprus and the University of Nicosia had published their Santa dates, and Pendeli Resort in Platres had Santa in its Christmas package. Most municipalities, the other malls and the Christmas Villages had not, so for them we write "programme to come" and say what happened in 2025, clearly marked. We will add dates as they are announced.

Santa at a glance

Nicosia

Mall of Cyprus Santa's House, Strovolos. The mall's Christmas Market sets up on the first-floor car park with four themed activity houses: Santa's House, supported by G. Charalambous, Mrs Claus's Kitchen, an Elves' Workshop and Candyland. The houses open 12:00–18:00 on market days: Saturdays and Sundays from 21 November to 20 December, then every day from 21 to 31 December, except 25 and 26 December. Entry to the market is free, but some attractions and activities are charged, and the mall had not published prices on 5 November. The mall lights its Christmas decorations on Sunday 22 November at 17:30, after a set by Marseaux at 17:00. Tip: go at noon on a weekend, before the afternoon crowds, and combine it with a decorations trip to IKEA next door; see our Christmas decorations guide.

UNIC Christmas Village, University of Nicosia. UNIC Christmas Spirit opens with a tree lighting at 18:00 on Friday 27 November, followed by a Christmas Village of wooden chalets and stalls on Friday evening (18:00–22:00) and on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November (11:00–18:00), where children can have photos with Santa and his elves. Free Christmas film screenings follow from 30 November to 4 December. Tip: the university says the detailed programme will be announced later, so check before you go.

Programme to come: the Municipality of Nicosia's Christmas programme. In 2025 it opened with the Eleftheria Square tree lighting on 23 November, with Fairytale Town and children's events until Epiphany, and the Mall of Cyprus ran a Rooftop Christmas with Santa's Post Office from 12 to 31 December. Nicosia Mall, Mall of Engomi and the Strovolos Christmas Festival (12–13 December 2026 in Acropolis Park) had not announced Santa visits.

Limassol

Limassol Marina. Santa is part of the Christmas on the Sea lighting on Saturday 21 November: a charity Christmas market and children's craft workshop from 16:00, carols at 17:00, the lights switched on by the Mayor at about 17:45, then Santa giving out presents from 18:00 to 20:00. In December the marina's Festive Saturdays bring him back on 5 and 19 December, 16:00–19:00, again with presents for children. On 12 December there is no Santa listed; instead there are mascot appearances and a magic show from 16:00 to 18:00. All are free. Tip: these are popular evenings, so arrive at the start and allow time to park.

Pendeli Resort, Platres. Its two-night Christmas package, 24–26 December 2026, includes a children's animator and a visit from Santa with presents for young guests, alongside a Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day lunch. Children aged 3–12 have their own package rate; prices are on request (+357 25 550044).

Programme to come: My Mall Limassol lists Christmas activities with live music and Santa from November to 31 December, but had not published dates when we checked. Listed for 2026; check with the organiser: Santa Park Fest in Kolossi Park, 20–22 November, 17:00–22:00, free entry, with a festive market, funfair and children's activities.

In the hills, Kyperounta Christmas Village has a Santa's post office, where children can post their letters, plus a Christmas cinema and craft workshops, from 21 November 2026. See our Christmas Villages guide for opening days.

Larnaca

Programme to come. Metropolis Mall switches on its Christmas lights on Friday 13 November from 17:30 to 20:30, and the municipality lights its decorations on 28 November, but neither had announced a Santa visit. In 2025, Larnaca Christmas Land at Europe Square had rides for young children, the town held a Christmas Parade on 20 December, and Pyla ran a children's Christmas party with Santa's gifts. Lefkara, the district's Christmas Village, ran "SanTa Lefkara" with a Santa parade in 2025; its 2026 programme was not out on 5 November.

Paphos

Cap St Georges, Peyia. The resort usually runs a Christmas Village in the square by the church of Agios Georgios, with a festive programme for children. Its 2026 dates, and whether Santa appears, are still to be confirmed: check the resort's website or call +357 26 000 000.

Listed for 2026; check with the organiser: Santa's Embassy at Malietzis House in Pano Arodes, listed for 19–20 December, free.

In 2025, Paphos lit its tree in Kennedy Square on 28 November with a Santa parade, and Alphamega held free tree lightings with Santa, face painting and treats at its Paphos Aphrodite, Engomi and Kapsalos stores on 22 November. Their 2026 plans were not announced on 5 November.

Famagusta district

Listed for 2026; check with the organiser: the CyHerbia Christmas Festival in Avgorou, listed for 12–13 December, 09:00–17:00, with Santa and Mrs Claus, a Santa's Grotto, a Grinch maze challenge and craft workshops; entry is listed at €10 for adults and €7 for children aged 5–12, under-5s free.

Programme to come: the Ayia Napa Marina Christmas Village. In 2025 it ran mainly at weekends from 29 November to 28 December, 11:00–20:00, with workshops, a bouncy castle and Santa. Deryneia, the district's Christmas Village, opens on 21 November.

Santa or Agios Vasilis?

In Cyprus the gift-bringer is traditionally Agios Vasilis (St Basil), whose day is 1 January. On New Year's Eve or New Year's Day the family cuts the vasilopita cake, and whoever finds the hidden coin has luck all year. The red-suited Santa of the malls and marinas is a newer arrival, and many Cypriot families now give presents on both days. If your children are at a local school, they will hear about Agios Vasilis, and the Greek name for Santa is the same: Ai-Vasilis. It helps to explain that Santa and Agios Vasilis are friends, not rivals.

Tips for a happy Santa visit

• Go early. Queues build from mid-afternoon at weekends, and small children tire fast.
• Bring your own camera or phone, and ask before you photograph other people's children.
• Prepare shy children. Tell them what will happen; a letter to hand over gives them something to do.
• Have a present plan. If Santa hands out gifts, tell children it is a little something before the big day.
• Dress for the weather. Marina and village events are outdoors; mountain villages are close to freezing after dark.
• Mind the date that matters. Cypriot friends may be waiting for Agios Vasilis on 1 January, so do not spoil it.
