Quick answer
For Christmas toys in Cyprus, Jumbo's stores in Lakatamia, Latsia, Limassol and Paphos have the widest choice. For wooden and educational toys, try Toy Tower on Kolonakiou Avenue and The Gifted in Limassol, the Engino STEM centre in Agios Athanasios, home of the Cypriot construction toy, and Toybox in Paphos, which also delivers island-wide through ACS. Moufflon Bookshop in old Nicosia sells English books. A LEGO shop is due at the Mall of Cyprus before the end of 2026. Remember that Cypriot children traditionally get presents from Agios Vasilis on 1 January.
- Jumbo is the big toy chain, with stores in Lakatamia and Latsia (Nicosia), Agios Athanasios (Limassol) and on Tombs of the Kings Avenue (Paphos); the Latsia store alone has close to 40,000 products.
- Toy Tower at Kolonakiou 14, Limassol, specialises in wooden toys, including the PlanToys brand, and is open seven days on Wolt.
- Engino, the construction-toy company founded in Limassol in 2004, runs a STEM Exploration Centre with a shop at Kolonakiou 57, Agios Athanasios.
- Toybox in Paphos (1 Nikou Kazantzaki) is open Monday to Saturday 09:00–19:00 and sends orders across Cyprus by ACS or Akis Express in 2–5 working days.
- A LEGO shop is expected to open at the Mall of Cyprus before the end of 2026; the date had not been announced on 5 November 2026.
Christmas toy shopping in Cyprus is a mix of one big chain, a handful of specialist toy shops and a lot of online ordering. This guide sorts them by district and by what they do best, from the giant aisles of Jumbo to wooden toys in Limassol, a Cypriot STEM brand and the bookshop where you can still buy English picture books. For decorations and stockings, see our Christmas decorations guide.
Last checked: 5 November 2026. Opening hours come from the shops' own pages or their Wolt listings; check before a long drive, as December hours often change.
Before you shop: a Cypriot Christmas
In the Greek Orthodox tradition children receive presents from Agios Vasilis (St Basil) on 1 January, when the vasilopita cake is cut, although many families now give them on Christmas Day too. If your children's friends are Cypriot, a small gift for New Year's Day is a kind gesture. Shops close by 18:00 on 24 and 31 December, so do not leave the big present to the last afternoon.
Nicosia
Jumbo, Lakatamia and Latsia. The island's big toy chain, with two stores in the Nicosia area. The Latsia store, opened in October 2024, covers about 9,000 m² over two floors with close to 40,000 products, including toys, children's goods and a seasonal Christmas section. Price level: budget to mid-range. Tip: Latsia has a one-way route through the store; go on a weekday evening rather than a Saturday in December.
IKEA, Strovolos. Its VINTERFINT and VINTERSAGA Christmas collections include toys alongside the decorations. Tip: good for stocking fillers if you are already there for decorations.
Flying Tiger Copenhagen. Four stores in Nicosia, the newest at the Mall of Engomi, plus Limassol and Paphos. Cheap craft kits, puzzles and stocking fillers.
Moufflon Bookshop, Faneromenis Street 44, opposite Faneromeni Church, old Nicosia. Founded in 1967 and now in new premises, it sells new, used and rare books, about 70% in English, and its website has a children's and young readers section. Hours are Monday to Friday 10:00–18:00 and Saturday 10:00–16:00, and it ships worldwide. Tip: ask the staff for Cyprus-themed children's titles; a local book is a present that will not be under any other tree.
Coming soon: LEGO at the Mall of Cyprus. The mall announced in September 2026 that the island's first LEGO shop will open there before the end of 2026. The date was not set on 5 November 2026; we will add it here once it is.
Limassol
Toy Tower, Kolonakiou 14. A wooden-toy specialist: baby and toddler toys, puzzles, blocks and marble runs, play kitchens, dolls' houses, vehicles, musical instruments and craft toys, with eco-friendly PlanToys as its featured brand. Listed hours are Monday to Friday 09:00–19:30 (Wednesday to 19:00), Saturday 09:00–19:00 and Sunday 10:00–16:00; phone 25 430043. Tip: wooden toys are the best choice for under-threes, and they travel well if you are flying to family.
The Gifted, Stavrou Stylianidi 14, Mesa Geitonia, and The Gifted Amathounta, Pindarou 4, Pyrgos. Educational and STEM toys (coding, science, maths and language), LEGO, Playmobil, Pokémon, Barbie, puzzles, plush toys, craft kits and Christmas items. The Mesa Geitonia shop lists weekday hours of 08:00–19:30 and is closed at weekends. Tip: the coding toys suit children aged about 5 to 10 who have "everything".
Engino STEM Exploration Centre, Kolonakiou 57, Agios Athanasios. Engino is a Cypriot company, founded in Limassol in 2004, whose construction kits of rods and multi-sided connectors are sold around the world. The centre has a shop with its Discovery STEM kits, plus a DIY and robotics space, soft play and a small science museum. Hours are Monday and Tuesday 09:30–19:00, Wednesday to Saturday 09:30–18:30, closed Sunday. Tip: a made-in-Cyprus present that teaches some engineering; Toybox also stocks the range.
Jumbo, Agios Athanasios. The Limassol store, at the entrance to the industrial area, has the same toy and seasonal sections as Nicosia.
Paphos
Toybox, 1 Nikou Kazantzaki, Paphos, phone 97 899456. A toy shop with a large online range: wooden toys from Janod, Le Toy Van and Melissa & Doug, LEGO, Playmobil, Engino, Little Tikes, dolls' houses, games and English children's books, from board books to classics. The shop is open Monday to Saturday 09:00–19:00 and closed on Sundays. Tip: the shop warns that December is peak season; order early and choose shop collection if you can.
Jumbo, Tombs of the Kings Avenue. Paphos's big-box option for toys, games and Christmas stockings.
Flying Tiger Copenhagen also has a Paphos store for small gifts.
Larnaca and Famagusta district
There is no Jumbo in Larnaca yet: the chain plans stores in Larnaca and Protaras within five years of April 2025, with no opening date. For now, Latsia is about 30–40 minutes up the motorway, or order online from Toybox and the Wolt shops below. Book lovers can take small children to The Christmas Cat, an interactive reading of a children's book, at the Dandelion Library in Kiti on Saturday 5 December 2026 at 15:30.
Handmade and second-hand toys
Christmas markets. The Mall of Cyprus Christmas Market in Strovolos opens on Saturday 21 November 2026, then runs every weekend to 20 December and every day from 21 to 31 December except 25 and 26 December, 11:00–18:00, with local makers selling handmade gifts. Entry is free, and children can visit Santa's House and an elves' workshop there from 12:00 to 18:00. The nine official Christmas Villages, open from 21 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, have stalls of local products and handicrafts; see our Christmas Villages guide.
Second-hand. Big plastic toys, bikes and ride-ons are expensive new and plentiful second-hand. Bazaraki and Facebook groups for children's items fill up before Christmas as families clear space; our second-hand and charity shops guide explains how to buy safely. Tip: check that battery compartments are clean and that small parts are all there before you pay.
Ordering online and by delivery
- Toybox sends orders across Cyprus by ACS or Akis Express: collection from a courier shop takes 2–3 working days after dispatch, home delivery 4–5 working days, longer for villages, and nothing ships at weekends or on public holidays. Bulky items can carry a surcharge, which the shop confirms before taking payment.
- Wolt lists Toy Tower and The Gifted in Limassol for delivery, and Little Tikes runs delivery-only Wolt shops in Nicosia and Limassol for larger items such as ride-on cars, trampolines and play kitchens; you cannot visit them in person.
- From abroad: since 1 July 2026, parcels from the UK and other non-EU countries pay Cypriot VAT and a €3 duty per item type, so a toy order from a British website can cost more than it looks. See our parcels and customs guide.
Gift ideas by age
- Under 3: wooden stacking toys, push-alongs and board books (Toy Tower, Toybox).
- 3–6: play kitchens, dolls' houses, Playmobil and big LEGO Duplo sets (Jumbo, Toybox, The Gifted).
- 6–10: coding robots, science kits, Engino builds and LEGO (The Gifted, Engino, Jumbo).
- 10+: board games, craft kits, Cyprus-themed books and novels (Moufflon, Toybox).
A Christmas experience can be a present too: see our Christmas with kids guide for shows and villages, or book a workshop from our arts and crafts workshops for kids guide.
Practical tips
- Look for the CE mark on every toy, especially cheap ones bought online or at markets.
- Keep receipts. Ask about exchanges before you buy; some shops give a gift receipt.
- Batteries are rarely included. Buy them with the present.
- Ask about gift wrap. Some shops wrap at the till in December; ask before you queue elsewhere.
What to do next
- Make a list by child and age, and shop in November while stock is full.
- If you are posting presents abroad, order by early December.
- Plan the rest of the season with our Christmas events and markets guide and, for a hamper for teachers or neighbours, our Christmas hampers guide.
