Learning Golf in Cyprus: Lessons, Academies and Junior Programmes

If you have always meant to take up golf, Cyprus is a good place to start: every 18-hole club on the island has an academy with PGA professionals, a driving range and coaching for beginners. Here is how the five academies compare, what lessons cost where prices are published, and what is on offer for children.

Which golf academies are there in Cyprus?

All five international-standard courses run their own academy. Four are in the Paphos district and one is in Limassol. For course details, green fees and membership, see our guide to golf in Cyprus.

Aphrodite Hills: PGA National Golf Academy

The resort opened its new PGA National Golf Academy in September 2026, next to the driving range opposite the Village Square. It is aimed at every level, from complete beginners and juniors to experienced players, and the resort mentions family golf sessions and full performance assessments. Facilities include a 28-bay TrackMan range, two indoor coaching studios with TrackMan 4, SAM PuttLab putting analysis, a short-game area, natural grass tees and a six-hole academy course. Custom club fitting and repairs are available in the academy shop.

Lesson prices are not published. Lessons are booked through the resort's online golf booking system or by phone on +357 26 828 219.

Secret Valley

Secret Valley, near Petra tou Romiou, has an academy with tuition by a PGA professional and a Junior Golf Academy. Practice facilities include covered bays, large putting, chipping and pitching greens and an indoor golf simulator, and rental clubs are available, which is useful before you buy your own set. The floodlit three-hole loop lets you play a few holes in the evening. Prices are not published in the sources we checked, so contact the club.

Eléa Golf Club

Eléa's academy is run by PGA professionals who tailor tuition to each golfer, and the Deputy Ministry of Tourism's 2026 brochure also lists a Junior Program. The academy offers custom club fitting. Members get preferential prices for coaching, and the club has a Young Golfer and an Under 40 membership, but neither lesson nor membership prices are published. Minthis

Minthis is the only club that publishes its lesson prices. At the time of writing (October 2026), with lessons taught by PGA professionals:

Members pay reduced lesson prices (the Junior Academy is excluded from this discount). The three-hole academy course costs €15 for adults and €7 for children aged 5–18, a cheap way to practise on real holes.

Limassol Greens

Limassol Greens opened in late 2025 and presents its academy as the entry point for new players. It has a driving range with 30 TrackMan bays, putting and chipping areas and grass tees, and the 2026 tourism brochure lists PGA resident professionals and coaching packages. The range is set up to suit players with no previous experience. Prices and any junior programme are not published in the sources we checked.

Cap St Georges: The Range (driving range near Peyia)

Cap St Georges Hotel & Resort, near Peyia in Paphos district, has added The Range, a 24-bay driving range on two tiers with Toptracer technology that tracks every shot. It is a place to practise, not a golf course. PGA-qualified professionals offer coaching for beginners and juniors, one-to-one lessons and group sessions, and there is a separate indoor golf simulator room.

What junior golf is available?

Five places list golf for children and teenagers. Here is where to start, with a direct link to each:

Minthis is the only club that publishes the full junior details:

1. Who: children and teenagers aged 5–18.
2. When: January to June and September to November, with a minimum of 32 hours of training a year.
3. Format: one-hour group sessions on Saturdays, starting at 10:00 or 11:00.
4. Cost: nine monthly payments of €60 per child (October 2026).

Minthis also lists junior memberships at €300 (ages 12–18) and €200 (under 12), a student membership at €1,000 (ages 18–23) and junior green fees of €35–€40. Under-12s need adult supervision, and junior members play after 12 noon or by arrangement with the junior pro. How do you get a handicap in Cyprus?

Golf in Cyprus is governed by the Cyprus Golf Federation, and handicaps are handled through its member clubs. Minthis offers an optional Cyprus Golf Federation licence for €50, which it says you need to obtain a handicap in Cyprus. Ask your club how it assesses new golfers and whether the licence fee is included in your membership.

Tips for choosing where to learn

• Start with a trial. Book one private lesson or a clinic before committing to a membership.
• Use the short courses. Six-hole and three-hole loops let you move from the range to real holes without a full round.
• Rent before you buy. Ask about rental clubs, and get fitted once your swing has settled.
• Check the terms. Ask what dates a membership covers, whether lessons are discounted and whether junior sessions pause in summer.
