Quick answer
For food and takeaway in Cyprus, the main apps are Wolt, Foody and Bolt Food, which also deliver groceries; Lidl Plus gives in-store discounts. For getting around, Bolt offers rides in six cities and the official Cyprus Bus and Pame apps show live bus times. Digital Citizen holds your ID card or driving licence, JCCsmart and your bank's app pay bills, and the EAC, My Cyta and MyPrimetel apps manage electricity and phone accounts.
- Wolt, Foody and Bolt Food all deliver food and groceries; Wolt+ and FoodyPro are paid subscriptions for cheaper delivery.
- Bolt lists Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, Ayia Napa and Famagusta, and its rides can be booked up to 90 days ahead.
- Cyprus Bus, from the Ministry of Transport, shows real-time bus arrivals; Pame tops up the Motion card in Nicosia and Larnaca.
- The government's Digital Citizen app holds ID cards and driving licences and needs a verified CY Login account.
- Emergency alerts (CY-Alert) reach phones without an app or data since June 2026; switch them on in your phone settings.
A handful of apps make everyday life in Cyprus much easier, from ordering dinner to topping up a bus card or paying the electricity bill. Here is what each one does, where it works, and a few things that surprise newcomers.
What surprises newcomers about apps in Cyprus?
- Your ID can live on your phone. The government's Digital Citizen app stores ID cards and driving licences, and in March 2026 the government said all organisations in Cyprus must accept them in person, just like the plastic card.
- Emergency alerts need no app. Since June 2026 the CY-Alert system sends warnings straight to phones in an affected area, whatever the network or SIM, without data. You switch the alerts on in your phone settings, and 1450 gives guidance.
- There is an app for your nearest shelter. SafeCY, from the civil defence, finds the closest shelter by GPS or by address, in Greek and English.
- Delivery apps run their own shops. Wolt operates Wolt Market grocery stores; by August 2023 it had five, in Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca.
- Your airport ride can follow your flight. Bolt's scheduled airport trips adjust the pick-up time if your flight is delayed, according to Bolt (May 2025).
Which apps deliver food and groceries?
Three apps cover takeaway in Cyprus: Wolt, Foody (owned by Delivery Hero) and Bolt Food. Foody's App Store listing says it covers "all the cities of Cyprus" with more than 2,100 stores. Bolt lists Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, Ayia Napa and Famagusta. Wolt advertises jobs in Limassol, Nicosia, Larnaca, Paphos and Paralimni. Coverage depends on your street, so enter your address in each app.
Subscriptions. Wolt+ is Wolt's paid plan with €0 delivery fees and extra deals; we found no published price for Cyprus, so check it in the app. FoodyPro launched in October 2023 at €5.99 a month, with free delivery from participating stores within 4 km and a 30-day free trial; check the current terms in the app.
Groceries. Wolt delivers groceries, pharmacy and pet supplies alongside restaurant food, including from its own Wolt Market stores. For the weekly shop in person, Lidl Plus is Lidl Cyprus's free loyalty app: you activate offers before you go and scan a digital card at the till. For supermarket chains and opening hours, see our supermarkets guide.
How do you get a taxi or ride?
Bolt is the ride-hailing app we could verify in Cyprus in 2026. It lists six cities (Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos, Ayia Napa and Famagusta), lets you book up to 90 days ahead and added a Minibus category for groups in 2025. Ride demand rises in summer in the coastal towns, so book airport trips in advance.
Which apps help with buses?
Cyprus Bus is the official app of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, with routes, timetables and real-time arrivals at each stop. In Nicosia and Larnaca, Pame, from Cyprus Public Transport, plans journeys, shows buses live on a map and tops up your Motion card; it was relaunched in September 2026. Fares and passes are explained in our public transport guide.
Parking. We could not confirm a municipal parking app on an official store page. Limassol announced app-based smart parking for about 2,500 central spaces from July 2026, so check Limassol Municipality's announcements before you drive in.

Which government and health apps are useful?
Digital Citizen works with your CY Login account, which you also use for the Tax For All website. As of March 2026 it held ID cards and driving licences, so it suits expats with a Cypriot driving licence; documents for foreign nationals were announced as planned. The digital copies are not valid for travel abroad.
For health, the GESY portal is still a website; see our GESY guide. A new myHealth@CY app with an emergency button that sends your GPS location was expected from November 2026; we will add it once it is in the app stores.
Which apps help with money, shopping and bills?
Most banks have their own apps; Bank of Cyprus's app also pays utility bills and sends money to other Bank of Cyprus customers by mobile number (QuickPay). Many expats also use Revolut: Skroutz told Cyprus Mail that Revolut made up 21% of transactions in its 2026 summer sales figures for Cyprus. Skroutz, which Cyprus Mail describes as Greece's most popular marketplace, has operated in Cyprus since 2023, and you can have orders sent to a Skroutz Point for collection. Bazaraki is a free classifieds app for cars, property, jobs and second-hand goods. More on banks in our finance guide.
For bills, the EAC app shows consumption, pays bills, reports faults and takes meter readings, and the My Cyta and MyPrimetel apps manage phone and internet accounts. For the weather and official yellow, orange and red warnings, use the Department of Meteorology website (dom.org.cy); see our weather warnings guide.
