Pet Sitters, Boarding and Dog Walkers in Cyprus, by City

Dog walker with several dogs on leads

Quick answer

Cyprus has a growing choice of pet care, from countryside kennels and catteries to home-based sitters, dog walkers, mobile groomers and positive-reinforcement trainers. Most boarding kennels sit just outside the main towns, so many offer a pet taxi. Apps such as Petsly and Keeppet, along with PetBacker and Bazaraki listings, make it easier to find sitters, but always meet them first and book early for Christmas, Easter and August.

  • Boarding kennels and catteries are mostly in villages just outside Limassol, Nicosia and Larnaca, and several offer pick-up and drop-off.
  • Petsly, a Cyprus pet care app launched in 2026, covers all five districts; it says dog walks typically start from about €10–€15 (2026).
  • Home-based dog walking and pet sitting are most widely available in Limassol.
  • Book boarding weeks ahead for Christmas, Easter and the summer holidays, when kennels fill up.
  • Always do a meet-and-greet, check vaccination requirements and ask how pets are kept cool in summer.

Whether you are going away for a fortnight or just working long days, finding someone you trust to look after your pet is one of the first jobs for any pet owner in Cyprus. The good news is that the choice has grown fast: alongside long-running kennels there are now home sitters, dog walking services and apps built for the island. Here is where to start, district by district.

Limassol

Limassol has the widest choice of walkers and home sitters, plus kennels in the hills behind the city.

  • Noah's Retreat For Dogs: A dog hotel with daycare and a dog park in Pano Polemidia, just north of the city. Handy for daycare on long working days.
  • Home from Home Dog Hotel: A dog hotel in the Limassol district for owners who want a quieter, home-style stay. Contact them through their page to arrange a visit.
  • Asgata Redrock Kennels and Cattery: Dog and cat hotel in Asgata, a short drive east of Limassol, open all year for short and long stays, with separate kennel and cattery areas.
  • For Cats, Dogs and Love: Daily dog walking and in-home pet sitting in Limassol since 2018, with a free meet-and-greet before the first booking.
  • Limassol Pet Care: Dog walking, cat-sitting visits, home boarding with a sitter and a small-dog pet taxi, including airport runs.
  • Petvibe: Dog walking in Limassol with monthly memberships and app-based GPS tracking and photo updates.
  • Lucky Pets: Pet shop and grooming service offering bath and cut treatments with free pick-up and drop-off.
  • The Dog for Family (D4F): Dog trainer offering private sessions and small group classes for puppies and adult dogs, including help with pulling, recall and reactivity.

Nicosia

Most of the capital's boarding is on the edge of the city, towards Kambia and Dali.

  • Dogs Hotel Cy: Dog and cat boarding on a large green site in Kambia, south of Nicosia, with outdoor kennels and indoor suites, grooming, puppy training and a weekday pet taxi. It is closed on Sundays, so plan drop-offs around that.
  • Pet People: Pet shop chain with stores in Nicosia and Limassol, offering salon grooming and mobile grooming vans that come to your home in Nicosia and Larnaca, plus pet sitting. Its pet hotel has closed.
  • Alexia Dog Training: Positive-reinforcement trainer based in Nicosia, certified by Veterinary Services, offering in-home puppy training and behaviour help for anxiety and reactivity. Also covers Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos and the Famagusta area, with online sessions.

Larnaca

Larnaca's kennels are close to the airport, which is useful if you are dropping a pet off on the way to a flight.

  • Vico Kennel: Dog hotel and separate dog-free cat suites in the Kellia and Troulloi area north of Larnaca, with grooming, training and a pet taxi. It also serves owners from Nicosia and Limassol.
  • Petstop Cyprus Kennels & Cattery: Family-run boarding kennels and cattery about 3km from Larnaca airport, running since 2006.

Paphos

For trainers and sitters in Paphos, the apps and listings below have the widest choice, and Alexia Dog Training travels to the district.

Famagusta district

Dedicated kennels in the Ayia Napa and Protaras area are harder to find online, so most owners use sitters. Petsly covers the district, and PetBacker lists home-based sitters around Paralimni and Protaras. Kennels near Larnaca are also within reach.

How do I find a trusted pet sitter in Cyprus?

  • Petsly: A free app launched in Cyprus in 2026, covering Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and Famagusta. Sitters set their own prices for walking, boarding, house-sitting, daycare and drop-in visits. It says walks typically start from about €10–€15 and home boarding from about €20–€35 a night (2026). Identities are checked and profiles approved by the team, but this is not a background check, so use the free meet-and-greet.
  • Keeppet: A Greek pet-sitting platform that launched in Cyprus in 2025, with home boarding, walking and house visits, and photo and video updates during the stay.
  • PetBacker: An international platform with Cyprus listings for home boarding, walking and grooming.
  • Bazaraki: The island's main classifieds site has a pet services section with sitters, walkers, groomers and home boarding. Ads are not vetted, so check carefully.
  • Facebook groups: Local expat and dog owners' groups are often the quickest way to get personal recommendations.

Practical tips

  • Visit first: see the kennel or meet the sitter with your pet before booking, and ask for a trial night or day.
  • Book early: kennels fill up for Christmas, Easter and August. Book several weeks ahead.
  • Check vaccinations: have your pet's passport or vaccination record ready; many kennels also want kennel cough protection and recent parasite treatment. Our pet care guide explains what is needed.
  • Ask about the heat: in summer, ask whether kennels are shaded or air-conditioned and when dogs are walked. Midday walks are a red flag.
  • Leave clear details: give your sitter your vet's number, any medication and a spare lead and tag. If you need a vet, see our vets by city guide.
  • Get it in writing: agree prices, extras (pet taxi, grooming) and cancellation terms before you go.

Frequently asked questions

How much does dog boarding cost in Cyprus?

Prices vary by kennel, dog size and season. Petsly says home boarding through its app starts from about €20–€35 a night (2026). Ask each kennel for a written quote, including any pet taxi or grooming extras.

What vaccinations do kennels in Cyprus ask for?

Expect to show your pet's passport or vaccination record, with up-to-date core vaccinations and rabies. Many kennels also ask for kennel cough protection and recent flea, tick and worm treatment. Check with the kennel well before your stay.

Is a home sitter or a kennel better?

Kennels suit dogs that are sociable and used to routine; home sitters suit older pets, cats and anxious dogs that do better in familiar surroundings. A trial night or day visit helps you decide.

How do I find a dog walker in Cyprus?

Use an app such as Petsly or Keeppet, look at Bazaraki's pet services section, or ask in local expat and dog owners' Facebook groups. Limassol has several dedicated walking services.

Are there catteries in Cyprus?

Yes. Several kennels have separate cat areas away from the dogs, such as Vico Kennel near Larnaca and Asgata Redrock Kennels and Cattery near Limassol. Cat owners also often use home-visit sitters.
