Ezousa Walking Trail

Με μια ματιά

A valley loop from the Episkopi environmental centre inland from Paphos, dipping down to the shaded riverbank and climbing to a rocky lookout. It's a good half-day outing close to the city.

What you'll see

  • Ezousa Valley riverside woodland
  • Rock viewpoint with Agios Ilarion church
  • Episkopi Environmental Information Centre

Αξίζει να σταματήσετε

  • Atsoupa rock and the tomb of St Hilarion: Local tradition says the hermit St Hilarion, who lived in Episkopi, threw the rock of Atsoupa at a demon; one church to the saint stands at the foot of the rock and a newer one on top holds his tomb.
  • Holy Cross monastery ruins: Remains of a small monastery dedicated to the Holy Cross on the opposite bank of the Ezousa from the village.
  • Moronero abandoned village: Deserted village with the ruined church of Agios Genadios, on the separate 8 km trail that links Episkopi with Kallepia.
  • Botanical garden at the information centre: The centre's garden groups plants by habitat, with endemics, bulbs and rare species, plus some Cypriot plants not found in the Ezousa valley and geological specimens.

Πού να μείνετε κοντά

  • Minthis Resort, Tsada: Hillside resort with a golf course at about 550 m in a Natura 2000 landscape, roughly 4 km from Episkopi.

  • Σε περίπτωση έκτακτης ανάγκης, καλέστε στο 112.
